Breaking Barriers: Expanding Access to Psychedelic Therapies through Right to Try and Breakthrough Therapy Legislation

Organizer: SAFER PSYCHEDLICS ASSOCIATION OF NEW ENGLAND (SPAN)

This virtual educational event is led by Chris Caldwell, founder of the nonprofit End of Life Psychedelic Care, and sponsored by Safer Psychedelics Association of New England (SPAN).

Join us as Chris Caldwell explains the current federal and state Right to Try legislation and the federal Breakthrough Therapy Act legislation for investigational drugs and its application to expanding access to psychedelic therapies. This webinar illuminates the proposed legislation and other policy reform efforts that could enable patients faced with terminal illnesses to be prescribed investigational treatments to psychedelic medicines. Learn about how you can help move these efforts forward to help access experimental treatments and why these laws matter to the future of psychedelic care and access.

Finding Your Path: Understanding the Antidepressant Tapering Process

Organizer: SAFER PSYCHEDLICS ASSOCIATION OF NEW ENGLAND (SPAN)

This virtual webinar is led by Kari Roe, MSN, FNP-BC and sponsored by Safer Psychedelics Association of New England (SPAN).

While antidepressants have shown benefits for many, their daily requirements, side effects, and withdrawal challenges can leave people feeling dependent on them, even when the benefits have been exhausted. Many prescribers may lack confidence in managing antidepressant tapering, or may not be familiar with how to taper, leading to unnecessary long-term use. Come learn more about common questions and concerns when transitioning off from antidepressants, including information about discontinuation risks and important considerations.
